The artist behind five hundred wedding mornings.
She never set out to sell makeup.
Anu Rotrico began assisting senior bridal artists across Chennai's wedding season in 2016, learning early that a beautiful trial photograph means very little if the look cannot survive fourteen hours, three outfit changes, and a hundred relatives with phone cameras.
What she chose, deliberately, was bridal work: the hardest category of makeup to get right, and the only one where the client remembers the result for the rest of her life.
"I don't want people to notice your makeup. I want them to notice you."
Three ideas she never compromises on.
Natural Beauty
Makeup applied with a light hand and a trained eye, so skin still looks like skin, even under wedding lighting and a hundred phone cameras.
Timeless Makeup
No trend chasing. A bridal look is judged in photographs for decades, so every choice is made for how it will read in twenty years, not twenty likes.
Confidence
The final five minutes before the mirror matter more than the two hours before it. That is the only result Anu is really working towards.

Questions brides ask before booking.
Anu has 8+ years as a bridal makeup artist, having styled over 500 brides across Chennai since 2016. She began assisting senior artists through the wedding season before building her own bridal practice, focused entirely on looks that survive real wedding days.
Anu chose bridal work deliberately — it's the hardest category of makeup to get right and the one where the result is remembered for a lifetime. A trial photo means little if the look can't survive fourteen hours, outfit changes and a hundred cameras.
Yes. Anu has done makeup for actors and public figures including Simran, Soori, Aparna Balamurali, Anikha Surendran and Sai Abhyankkar, for magazine covers, award nights and live performances — the same camera-tested craft she brings to every bride's chair.
Anu believes makeup should reveal you, not replace you: "I don't want people to notice your makeup — I want them to notice you." Her work is built on natural beauty, timeless looks that read well in photos for decades, and the confidence a bride feels at the mirror.
Yes — traditional South Indian and Tamil bridal makeup is the heart of Anu's work, built around Kanjeevaram silks, temple jewellery, jadai styling and dawn muhurtham timings. She also creates Christian and Muslim bridal looks, each styled on its own terms.
Brides choose Anu for award-winning, celebrity-trusted work that still feels personal — makeup engineered to last, a calm presence on a stressful morning, and a look that photographs beautifully without changing who they are. She is often described as "the last bridesmaid" beside you.
Yes. Anu was named Best Bridal Makeup Artist at the Times Business Awards 2023 (Madurai & Trichy), presented by The Times Group, and her work has featured in The Times of India, Chennai Times and Tamil press.
