Coimbatore has the most self-contained wedding scene outside Chennai. It is a large, prosperous city with its own hotels, banquet halls and photographers, and Kongu weddings have a distinct character: well organised, punctual, and often larger than the equivalent wedding elsewhere in the state.
The climate is genuinely different from the coast. Coimbatore sits in the rain shadow of the Western Ghats and the air is drier and cooler, particularly in the wedding months. Skin that turns oily in Chennai often behaves in the opposite way here, so prep and base selection change accordingly rather than being carried over unchanged.

Because Coimbatore weddings frequently run across two or three days with separate functions, booking the looks together usually works better than arranging them one at a time.
